24-Core Threadripper Workstation

This business desktop is built around a 24-core AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9960X processor with 48 threads and a 128MB L3 cache. It targets professionals who need sustained multi-threaded performance for rendering, simulation or large dataset analysis. The system ships with Windows 11 Pro 64-bit and is described as AI Ready. Liquid cooling and a 1200W 80 PLUS Gold power supply support the high thermal design power.

Installation notes and common issues

The Corsair 5000D FRAME case measures 520 x 245 x 520 mm and includes front and rear 120mm fans plus a 360mm AIO radiator that occupies the top mount. Builders must verify case clearance for the 360mm radiator and ensure the motherboard rear I/O aligns with the cutout. The Gigabyte TRX50 AERO D motherboard uses the sTR5 socket; CPU installation requires careful torque sequencing. Front-panel connectors include 2 x USB 3.0, 1 x USB 3.1 Type-C and audio jacks.

Capacity and headroom

Memory is 64GB DDR5 ECC across the board; the platform supports far higher capacities but this configuration stops at 64GB. Primary storage uses two 4TB NVMe Samsung 990 PRO drives in RAID 0 for an 8TB volume with read speeds up to 7450 MB/sec and writes up to 6900 MB/sec. A 10TB SATA HDD with 256MB cache provides bulk capacity. The Nvidia RTX A400 adds 4GB VRAM and four MiniDisplayPort outputs; it suits multi-monitor productivity but not heavy GPU compute.

Questions about this item

How can I verify the 24-core Threadripper 9960X is running at its 4.2 GHz base clock after setup?

Open Task Manager or HWMonitor and confirm the CPU shows 24 cores, 48 threads and a base frequency of 4.2 GHz under load; the liquid cooler should keep temperatures stable during sustained workloads.

What comes in the box and which items must be purchased separately?

The tower includes the Threadripper 9960X, 64 GB DDR5 ECC memory, two 4 TB NVMe Samsung 990 PRO SSDs, a 10 TB SATA HDD, RTX A400 with four MiniDisplayPort outputs, 1200 W 80 PLUS Gold PSU, 360 mm AIO liquid cooler, Windows 11 Pro 64-bit and a Corsair 5000D Frame case; monitor, keyboard, mouse and any additional drives are not included.

Which storage configuration should I choose between the 8 TB NVMe and 10 TB HDD for primary workloads?

Use the 8 TB NVMe array (two 4 TB Samsung 990 PRO drives) for operating system, applications and active project files to benefit from 7450 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write speeds; reserve the 10 TB SATA HDD with 256 MB cache for bulk archives and backups.
