24-Core Threadripper Workstation

This liquid-cooled desktop workstation runs a 24-core AMD Threadripper 9960X processor at 4.2 GHz with a 5.3 GHz boost and 128 MB L3 cache. It pairs the CPU with 256 GB of DDR5 ECC memory and a 360 mm quiet-edition AIO cooler for sustained multi-threaded throughput.

Suited for compute-heavy pipelines.

Engineers, researchers and content creators who need 48 threads, ECC memory integrity and three high-speed NVMe drives totalling 10 TB will benefit. Users whose workloads fit on a mainstream platform or who require more than two 10 GbE LAN ports should evaluate other configurations.

Sustained load behaviour

The 1200 W 80 PLUS Gold PSU with Japanese main capacitors and a 140 mm low-noise fan powers the CPU, three Samsung 990 PRO SSDs rated at 7450 MB/s read and 6900 MB/s write, plus a 10 TB SATA HDD without throttling. Front and rear 120 mm case fans maintain airflow during extended renders or simulations.

Questions about this item

Does the TRX50 AERO motherboard require a specific power supply connector for the Threadripper 9960X?

The 1200W 80 PLUS Gold PSU includes the necessary EPS connectors for the sTR5 socket and 24-core CPU.

Will the 10TB SATA III hard drive work with the four M.2 slots already populated by NVMe SSDs?

Yes, the board provides eight SATA 6Gb/s ports separate from the four M.2 connectors, so the 10TB HDD adds capacity without conflict.

How can I confirm the 256GB DDR5 ECC memory is running in the correct mode after assembly?

Open Windows Task Manager or BIOS to verify 256GB detected and ECC status reported as active.
