Configuration Summary

This Adamant Custom workstation is built around a 32-core AMD Threadripper 9970X processor and 512GB of DDR5 ECC memory. A 360mm liquid cooler manages thermals for sustained high-throughput workloads. The system ships with Windows 11 Pro and dual LAN ports for network redundancy.

Target Audience

Engineers and researchers running large-scale simulations, rendering pipelines or AI model training will benefit from the core count and ECC memory integrity. Buyers who need more storage bays than the four 2.5-inch and two 3.5-inch slots provided should look at a different chassis. Users without ECC-dependent workloads may find the memory configuration excessive.

Storage & GPU Impact

Three Samsung 990 PRO NVMe drives totalling 10TB deliver sequential reads up to 7450 MB/s and writes up to 6900 MB/s for rapid project loading. A 10TB SATA HDD with 256MB cache adds bulk archival capacity. The RTX 5070 12GB graphics card provides GPU acceleration for compatible compute and visualisation tasks.

Questions about this item

Does the sTR5 motherboard need any extra power cables beyond the 1200 W PSU cables already fitted?

The Thermaltake Toughpower 1200 W unit includes all EPS and PCIe cables required for the Threadripper 9970X and RTX 5070, so no additional cables are needed.

Will the four SATA bays and eight onboard SATA ports still accept the 10 TB HDD if I keep older 3.5-inch drives?

Yes, the case provides two 3.5-inch bays and the TRX50 AERO D offers eight SATA 6 Gb/s ports, so the 10 TB SATA HDD and legacy drives connect without adapters.

How can I confirm the 512 GB DDR5 ECC memory is running in ECC mode after first boot?

Open Windows Event Viewer and check the System log for WHEA-Logger entries showing corrected memory errors, which only appear when ECC is active.
