Workstation for 32-core compute

This liquid-cooled tower pairs a 32-core Threadripper 9970X with 512GB DDR5 ECC memory and an RTX 5090 32GB GPU. The 1600W Titanium power supply feeds CPU boosts up to 5.4 GHz and sustained GPU loads. Windows 11 Pro 64-bit ships pre-installed for immediate deployment.

Upgrade from limited core counts

Moving from 16-core or 24-core platforms adds 32 cores and 64 threads for parallel rendering, simulation and AI training workloads. The jump is worth it when memory bandwidth and PCIe lane count become bottlenecks on smaller sockets. Builders staying on mainstream desktop chipsets will not gain the 128MB L3 cache or quad-channel DDR5 architecture.

Headroom at 512GB DDR5 and 2TB NVMe

The 512GB DDR5 ECC capacity handles large in-memory datasets, multi-VM clusters and complex scene files without paging. Samsung 990 PRO 2TB NVMe delivers sequential reads up to 7450 MB/s and writes up to 6900 MB/s for active project storage. The 10TB SATA HDD with 256MB cache serves as bulk archive; it runs out when sustained throughput exceeds SATA 6Gb/s limits.

Questions about this item

What are the internal drive bay counts for the Corsair 5000D FRAME case?

The case provides two internal 3.5-inch bays and four internal 2.5-inch bays for additional storage drives.

What is the CPU cooler mounting requirement on the Gigabyte TRX50 AERO D motherboard?

The 360 mm liquid cooler uses the sTR5 socket mounting pattern; ensure the back-plate is secured before attaching the water block.

Which storage drives are user-replaceable and what interfaces do they use?

The 2 TB Samsung 990 PRO uses a PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 slot, and the 10 TB HDD uses a SATA 6 Gb/s bay; both can be swapped later.
