64-Core Threadripper Workstation

The Adamant Custom business desktop centres on a 64-core AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9980X processor running at 3.2 GHz with a 5.4 GHz boost and 256 MB L3 cache. It ships with 512 GB of DDR5 ECC memory, a 4 TB NVMe SSD and a 10 TB SATA hard drive. The Nvidia RTX 4000 Blackwell GPU adds 24 GB of video memory for professional visualisation workloads.

360 mm Liquid Cooling and 1200 W Gold PSU

A 360 mm quiet-edition AIO water cooler handles the CPU thermal load while a 140 mm PSU fan and single 120 mm front and rear case fans move air through the Corsair 5000D Frame chassis. The Thermaltake Toughpower 1200 W 80 PLUS Gold unit supplies power with over-voltage, under-voltage, over-power and short-circuit protection. Windows 11 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed.

Sustained 64-Core 128-Thread Throughput

With 128 threads available the system maintains high multi-threaded throughput across long render, simulation or compute jobs without the frequency drops seen in shorter bursts. The 4 TB Samsung 990 Pro NVMe drive delivers up to 7450 MB/s reads and 6900 MB/s writes for fast scratch access. Dual 10 GbE and 2.5 GbE LAN ports keep network storage feeds from becoming a bottleneck.

Questions about this item

How is the 360 mm liquid cooler installed on the sTR5 socket, and what step is often missed?

The cooler ships pre-assembled with a 360 mm radiator and 140 mm fans; the step often missed is connecting the pump header to the motherboard's dedicated CPU_OPT or AIO_PUMP connector so the pump runs at full speed rather than following the CPU fan curve.

What maintenance or replacement will the liquid cooling loop and storage drives need later?

The sealed AIO loop requires no refill; plan to replace the 140 mm radiator fans when bearing noise appears, and the 10 TB SATA HDD after its rated workload limit while the 4 TB NVMe SSD typically outlasts the system.

What limit shows up first under sustained all-core load on the 64-core Threadripper 9980X?

The 1200 W 80 PLUS Gold PSU and 360 mm AIO define the thermal and power ceiling; the CPU will hit its package power limit before the coolant saturates, so sustained clocks settle at the processor's configured TDP rather than the 5.4 GHz single-core maximum.
