Threadripper 9980X 64-Core Workstation

This liquid-cooled tower pairs a 64-core Threadripper 9980X processor with 128 GB of DDR5 ECC memory and a GeForce RTX 5060 graphics card. Windows 11 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed on a 1 TB NVMe SSD, while a 10 TB hard drive provides bulk storage. A 1200 W 80 PLUS Gold power supply supports the entire configuration.

Suited for multi-threaded production

Engineers running large simulations, video editors handling multiple timelines, and data scientists training models will benefit from the 64 cores, 128 threads and ECC memory. The single RTX 5060 with 8 GB VRAM limits buyers who need dual-GPU compute density or larger frame buffers for high-resolution 3D rendering.

1 TB NVMe plus 10 TB HDD capacity

The Samsung 990 PRO delivers sequential reads up to 7450 MB/s and writes up to 6900 MB/s for active project files. The 10 TB SATA drive adds deep archival space. Workloads that exceed 128 GB system memory or require faster GPU memory bandwidth will hit the ceiling of this configuration.

Questions about this item

What motherboard socket must my CPU cooler support for the Threadripper 9980X?

The sTR5 socket on the GIGABYTE TRX50 AERO D motherboard is required for the 64-core Threadripper 9980X processor.

Can I keep my existing SATA 6Gb/s hard drives when adding the 10TB HDD?

Yes, the motherboard provides eight SATA 6Gb/s ports so the 10TB drive and any older SATA drives can run together.

How do I verify the liquid cooler is running after I power on the workstation?

Check that the 360mm AIO pump is spinning and coolant temperature stays low under load in the monitoring software.
