Threadripper 9980X workstation

This 64-core Threadripper 9980X tower targets professionals who need sustained multi-threaded throughput for simulation, rendering and large-model training. The liquid-cooled CPU runs at 3.2 GHz base with headroom to 5.4 GHz. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed and the system is labelled AI Ready.

Liquid cooling and expansion bays

A 360 mm AIO keeps the 64-core processor stable under continuous load while the Corsair 5000D chassis provides internal bays for two 3.5-inch and four 2.5-inch drives. The Seasonic 1600 W 80+ Titanium unit delivers clean power through Japanese capacitors and a 140 mm low-noise fan. The TRX50 AERO D motherboard adds rear USB4 Type-C ports, four USB 3.2 Gen 2, four USB 3.2 Gen 1, eight SATA 6 Gb/s and four M.2 connectors for future storage growth.

RTX PRO 5000 48 GB upgrade

The Blackwell-generation RTX PRO 5000 brings 48 GB VRAM, replacing smaller professional GPUs that bottleneck large-scene rendering or GPU-accelerated inference. Dual Samsung 990 PRO NVMe drives totalling 6 TB supply sequential reads up to 7450 MB/s and writes up to 6900 MB/s, while a 10 TB SATA HDD with 256 MB cache handles bulk archives. Builders who need more than 64 GB DDR5 ECC or a second GPU should plan a different configuration.

Questions about this item

Will the 360 mm liquid cooler keep the 64-core Threadripper 9980X from throttling during long renders?

The 360 mm Quiet Edition AIO is designed for the 9980X up to 5.4 GHz boost; sustained all-core loads stay within thermal limits without throttling.

How loud is the system when the 1600 W Titanium PSU and GPU fans run 24/7?

The Seasonic PRIME TX-1600 uses a 140 mm ultra-quiet fan and the 360 mm AIO runs a Quiet Edition pump; idle noise is low and full-load acoustics remain workstation-class.

Does the motherboard need any extra power cables beyond what the 1600 W PSU includes?

The Seasonic PRIME TX-1600 supplies all required EPS and PCIe connectors for the TRX50 AERO D board and RTX PRO 5000; no additional cables are needed.
