Threadripper 9980X 64-Core Workstation

This liquid-cooled tower pairs a 64-core AMD Threadripper 9980X processor with 64GB of DDR5 ECC memory and an Nvidia RTX 5080 16GB graphics card. It targets professionals who need sustained multi-threaded compute and GPU acceleration in a single Windows 11 Pro system.

TRX50 Platform With Triple NVMe And 10TB HDD

The Gigabyte TRX50 AERO D motherboard provides four M.2 slots populated by three Samsung 990 PRO drives totalling 10TB of NVMe storage plus a 10TB SATA hard drive. A 1200W 80 PLUS Gold power supply and 360mm AIO cooler support the high-core-count CPU and GPU without requiring external infrastructure.

Sustained Load On 128 Threads And 16GB VRAM

The 360mm quiet-edition liquid cooler and 140mm PSU fan maintain thermal headroom during extended all-core workloads at up to 5.4GHz boost. The RTX 5080 16GB frame buffer and triple NVMe array keep data flowing to all 128 threads for rendering, simulation or AI inference tasks.

Questions about this item

Will the 360 mm liquid cooler keep the 64-core Threadripper 9980X at full speed during long renders?

The 360 mm Quiet Edition AIO is built for the 9980X's thermal envelope; the 140 mm radiator fan and pump run at low RPM so the CPU sustains its 5.4 GHz boost without throttling.

How loud is the system when the RTX 5080 and Threadripper run flat-out all day?

The 140 mm PSU fan and 140 mm AIO radiator fan are both rated for ultra-quiet operation; combined with the 120 mm case fans the workstation stays in a low-noise range even at sustained load.

Does the Gigabyte TRX50 AERO D board need any extra parts before the workstation will boot?

No — the motherboard, CPU, 64 GB DDR5 ECC, three Samsung 990 PRO SSDs, 10 TB HDD, RTX 5080 and 1200 W PSU are all pre-installed; just add a monitor, keyboard and mouse.
