Workstation for 32-core workloads

This liquid-cooled tower pairs a 32-core AMD Threadripper 9970X processor with 128GB of DDR5 ECC memory. Three Samsung 990 PRO NVMe drives deliver 10TB of solid-state storage alongside a 10TB SATA hard drive. An Nvidia RTX 5090 with 32GB of video memory handles GPU-accelerated tasks. Windows 11 Pro is installed.

360mm liquid cooling and 1600W Titanium PSU

A 360mm quiet-edition AIO cooler manages the CPU thermal load while a Seasonic PRIME TX-1600 80+ Titanium unit supplies power with a 140mm low-noise fan. The Corsair 5000D Frame case adds front and rear 120mm fans for chassis airflow. Over-voltage, under-voltage, over-power and short-circuit protections are built into the power supply.

Customisable configuration with extensive I/O

The Gigabyte TRX50 AERO D motherboard provides two USB4 Type-C ports, eight USB 3.2 Gen 2 and Gen 1 ports, four USB 2.0 headers, eight SATA 6Gb/s connectors and four M.2 slots. Dual LAN ports handle network connectivity. The supplier notes that all configurations are customisable to match specific workload requirements.

Questions about this item

How is the 360 mm liquid CPU cooler installed, and what step is often missed?

The 360 mm AIO cooler is pre-installed on the Threadripper 9970X; the step people miss is removing the protective film from the cold plate before the first boot.

What maintenance or replacement will the liquid cooler need later?

The sealed 360 mm AIO cooler requires no refill; plan to replace the entire unit if pump noise increases or CPU temperatures rise after several years.

What limit appears first under sustained load on this workstation?

The 1600 W 80+ Titanium PSU and 360 mm AIO cooler set the thermal and power ceiling for the 32-core Threadripper 9970X and RTX 5090 during prolonged heavy workloads.
