Threadripper 9970X Workstation

This 32-core desktop workstation is built for professionals running multi-threaded workloads such as simulation, rendering and large-scale data analysis. The AMD Threadripper 9970X processor reaches 5.4 GHz boost with 128 MB L3 cache and 64 threads. Liquid cooling and a 1200 W 80 PLUS Gold supply support sustained heavy compute.

256GB DDR5 ECC plus 6TB NVMe and 10TB HDD

Error-correcting DDR5 memory protects data integrity during long calculations. Two Samsung 990 PRO drives deliver 2 TB and 4 TB of PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe storage with read speeds up to 7450 MB/s and write speeds up to 6900 MB/s. A 10 TB SATA III hard drive adds high-capacity bulk storage for archives and media libraries.

sTR5 motherboard and RTX PRO 4000 24GB

The Gigabyte TRX50 AERO D board uses the sTR5 socket and provides four M.2 slots, eight SATA 6 Gb/s ports, two USB4 Type-C ports and dual LAN. The Nvidia RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell GPU carries 24 GB of memory for GPU-accelerated applications. Verify that your workloads can use ECC memory and that the Corsair 5000D Frame case dimensions suit your workspace.

Questions about this item

How often should the 360 mm liquid cooler on the Threadripper 9970X be checked or refilled?

The 360 mm AIO is a sealed unit; no refill is needed. Inspect the radiator and fans for dust every 6–12 months and verify pump operation if temperatures rise.

What thermal limit appears first when all 32 cores run at 5.4 GHz for extended periods?

The CPU will hit its thermal ceiling before the 1200 W 80 PLUS Gold PSU reaches its rated output, so coolant temperature becomes the limiting factor.

How loud is the 140 mm PSU fan and the 360 mm radiator fans when the system renders 24/7?

The PSU uses an ultra-quiet 140 mm fan and the AIO is a Quiet Edition model; both are designed for low noise under continuous load.
