Liquid-cooled Threadripper workstation

This Adamant Custom tower pairs a 64-core AMD Threadripper 9980X processor with 128GB of DDR5 ECC memory and an Nvidia RTX PRO 6000 graphics card holding 96GB of VRAM. The system ships with Windows 11 Pro and targets professionals running large-scale simulation, rendering or AI workloads that demand high core counts and massive GPU memory.

360 mm AIO cooler and 1600 W Titanium PSU

A 360 mm quiet-edition liquid cooler handles the CPU while a Seasonic Prime TX-1600 unit rated at 80+ Titanium delivers power through a 140 mm low-noise fan. The Corsair 5000D Frame case adds front and rear 120 mm fans, providing steady airflow for sustained multi-threaded loads without excessive acoustic output.

Replaces dual-socket render nodes

Workstations previously built around two-socket configurations can consolidate into this single-socket platform when 64 cores and 96 GB of GPU memory cover the dataset. The jump is worth it for studios reducing rack space, simplifying licensing or cutting interconnect latency, but buyers who need more storage bays or a second GPU should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How is the 360 mm liquid CPU cooler installed, and which step do builders often miss?

The 360 mm AIO mounts to the case top or front using the included brackets; the step most often missed is connecting the pump tach cable to the motherboard CPU_FAN header so the BIOS can monitor pump speed.

What maintenance or replacement will the liquid cooler and 10 TB HDD need later?

The sealed AIO loop requires no refill, but plan to replace the thermal paste between the cold plate and the Threadripper 9980X every two to three years; the 10 TB SATA III HDD has moving parts and should be monitored with SMART tools and swapped once reallocated sectors appear.

What limit appears first under sustained all-core load on the 64-core Threadripper 9980X?

The 360 mm radiator surface area becomes the bottleneck; once coolant temperature saturates the CPU will throttle below its 5.4 GHz boost to stay within thermal limits.
