Workstation for 64-core AI workloads

This liquid-cooled tower pairs a 64-core Threadripper 9980X with 128GB DDR5 ECC memory and an RTX 5080 16GB GPU. Three Samsung 990 PRO NVMe drives deliver 10TB of fast storage alongside a 10TB SATA HDD. Windows 11 Pro ships pre-installed for immediate deployment.

Suits compute-heavy studios and researchers

Engineers running large simulations, AI model training or multi-threaded rendering gain from the core count and ECC memory. Buyers who need more storage bays or a second GPU should look at larger chassis options. The 1200W power supply limits further high-wattage additions.

Sustained load on liquid cooling and Gold PSU

A 360mm quiet-edition AIO keeps the CPU near its 5.4GHz boost during extended runs. The Thermaltake 1200W 80 PLUS Gold unit maintains stable delivery with Japanese capacitors and a 140mm low-noise fan. Case airflow uses front and rear 120mm fans to exhaust heat from the GPU and motherboard VRMs.

Questions about this item

Does the Threadripper 9980X need a discrete GPU to display video?

Yes, the Threadripper 9980X has no integrated graphics, so the RTX 5080 16GB must be installed and connected to a monitor for any video output.

Will the four SATA ports on the TRX50 AERO D motherboard support my existing 3.5-inch hard drives?

The board provides eight SATA 6Gb/s connectors, so up to eight SATA drives such as 3.5-inch HDDs can be attached directly.

How can I verify the three Samsung 990 PRO SSDs are running at PCIe 4.0 speeds after setup?

In Windows 11 Pro open Task Manager, select the Performance tab, choose each NVMe drive and confirm the link speed reads PCIe 4.0 with sequential reads near 7450 MB/s.
