64-Core Threadripper Workstation

This liquid-cooled tower workstation is built around a 64-core AMD Threadripper PRO 9985WX processor running at 3.2 GHz with a boost up to 5.4 GHz. It includes 64 GB of DDR5 ECC memory, a 6 TB NVMe SSD array, a 10 TB SATA hard drive and an Nvidia RTX PRO 2000 graphics card with 16 GB of memory. The system ships with Windows 11 Pro and is aimed at professionals who need high core counts and ECC memory for compute-intensive workloads.

PCIe 4.0 NVMe and SATA limits

The two Samsung 990 PRO SSDs operate over PCIe 4.0 x4, delivering sequential reads up to 7450 MB/s and writes up to 6900 MB/s, so sustained throughput will not exceed the PCIe 4.0 ceiling. The 10 TB hard drive uses a SATA 6 Gb/s interface, which caps its maximum transfer rate well below the SSD speeds. Both storage tiers are bound by their respective interface specifications.

64-core CPU decides fit

The 64-core, 128-thread Threadripper PRO 9985WX is the single specification that determines whether this workstation matches the workload; buyers who need fewer cores or a lower memory capacity should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 2 TB or 4 TB Samsung 990 PRO as my primary NVMe drive?

The workstation includes both a 2 TB and a 4 TB Samsung 990 PRO PCIe 4.0x4 NVMe SSD. Use the faster 4 TB drive for active projects and the 2 TB drive for the operating system or scratch space.

What does the Threadripper PRO 9985WX 3.2 GHz base clock deliver inside this tower?

The 64-core, 128-thread CPU boosts up to 5.4 GHz with 256 MB L3 cache, cooled by a 360 mm liquid AIO, giving sustained multi-thread performance for rendering, simulation and AI workloads.

How does the PCIe 4.0 x4 interface limit the Samsung 990 PRO speeds in practice?

Each 990 PRO is capped at the PCIe 4.0 x4 ceiling, so sequential reads top out near 7 450 MB/s and writes near 6 900 MB/s as specified by Samsung.
