Ultra Wide SCSI PCI card

The Adaptec AHA-2940S76 is a non-RAID controller card that adds Ultra Wide SCSI connectivity to a desktop system through a standard PCI slot. It is intended for technicians and hobbyists who need to attach legacy SCSI peripherals such as scanners, tape drives or older hard disks to a machine that lacks native support.

Legacy SCSI support only

This card suits owners of Adaptec-compatible SCSI hardware who must retain access to existing devices on a PCI motherboard. It is not for builders who require RAID functionality, external connectors, or any interface other than the internal Ultra Wide SCSI bus this model provides.

Ultra Wide SCSI interface

The single specification that decides compatibility is the Ultra Wide SCSI bus, which determines the maximum transfer rate and the cable type the card can drive. Match this interface to the drive or device specification before purchase.
