Active area and pressure sensitivity

The Adesso CybertabletK8 is a graphics tablet with an 8" x 5" active drawing area and 8192 levels of pressure sensitivity. It connects via USB and includes a battery-free pen that delivers the same 8192 pressure levels. The tablet measures 11.0 in x 8.0 in x .1 in and features a 1920x1080 LED screen. Six programmable press keys provide shortcuts for common tasks.

Compatibility and use-case fit

The tablet supports Windows and Mac systems, making it suitable for artists, designers and presenters who need precise cursor control and pressure-sensitive input. Users who require a larger drawing surface or a tablet with a different aspect ratio should consider other options. Buyers needing wireless connectivity or multi-touch gestures will not find those features here.

8192 pressure levels

The 8192 pressure levels determine how finely the pen responds to changes in force, directly affecting the nuance of brush strokes and line weight. This specification is the primary factor in deciding whether the tablet meets the sensitivity requirements for detailed illustration or handwriting capture.

Questions about this item

Does the box include the battery-free pen or do I need to buy a stylus separately?

The package contains the Cybertablet K8 tablet and the battery-free pen; no extra stylus purchase is required.

The spec lists 8192 pressure levels and 5080 lpi — which figure matters more for detailed illustration work?

The 8192 pressure levels control how finely the pen responds to force, while 5080 lpi sets the positional granularity; both contribute to detail.

How does the 8 x 5 inch active area relate to the 1920 x 1080 resolution when I'm drawing on a full-HD monitor?

The driver maps the tablet's active area to your screen resolution so pen movement corresponds directly to cursor position across the display.
