Retractable ID Reel with 24" Extension

This Advantus 75407 retractable ID reel holds a badge or key card on a steel cord that extends to 24 inches for scanning or swiping. A metal clip secures the reel to belts, pockets or waistbands. A plastic strap connects the cord to badge holders, key rings or slotted cards. The unit is sold in a box of 12.

Suited for daily badge access, not for heavy keys

Workers who need frequent, hands-free badge presentation at readers or door scanners will find the 24-inch reach convenient. The clip and strap are designed for standard ID credentials and light key rings. Users who carry heavy key bunches or need a locking reel should consider a different style.

24-inch steel cord reach

The cord extends to 24 inches, which determines how far the badge can be pulled from the clipped reel for scanning. If the reader mounting height or the user's clip position requires a longer pull, this reel will fall short. Buyers who need more reach should look for a model with a longer extension.

Questions about this item

How do I attach the Advantus 75407 reel so the clip does not slide off a thick belt?

Slide the metal clip fully over the belt edge until the spring tension locks it flat; the clip opens wide enough for heavy fabric but must be seated past the hinge point or it can pivot loose.

Which part of the 12-pack will wear out first and need replacing?

The retractable steel cord spring fatigues after repeated 24-inch extensions, causing slow retraction or sag; the plastic badge-holder strap may also crack at the attachment loop before the clip fails.

What stops the cord from extending past 24 inches during a hard pull?

An internal stop pawl engages at the 24-inch limit; if the cord is yanked sharply the pawl can skip a tooth, so extend smoothly to avoid damaging the mechanism.
