Overhead 12.1" DVD monitor

The ADVENT ADVEXL12A is an overhead flip-down monitor with a built-in DVD player for rear-seat entertainment. It fits vehicles that can accommodate a 12.1 inch screen and a single-DIN overhead opening. The unit includes snap-on bezels in black, grey and tan to match common interior colours.

Sustained playback and power delivery

A 12.1 inch LED back-lit panel displays 1280 by 800 resolution at a 16:9 aspect ratio for widescreen films. The integrated DVD mechanism handles long journeys without overheating, while the user-accessible USB port supplies 2.1 amps to keep smartphones or tablets charged during playback. An FM transmitter on 100 channels can feed audio to the car stereo or to the included dual-channel IR wireless headphones.

Installation checks before ordering

Verify that the roof lining has enough depth for the flip-down mechanism and that a 12 V power feed is reachable at the mounting point. Confirm whether you need the optional HDH12 cable or WM1 module for hidden HDMI streaming, the MVGP1 for the game port, or the FMDIRB relay box for hard-wired FM audio. The package supplies mounting brackets, bezels, two single-channel wireless headphones and A/V cables.

Questions about this item

Does the 12.1" LED panel generate noticeable heat during all-day road trips?

The LED back-lit panel runs cooler than older CCFL screens, so cabin warmth stays low even after hours of continuous playback.

What must the vehicle already provide for the overhead unit to power up and charge devices?

A 12 V accessory circuit feeds the mounting bracket, and the built-in USB port delivers 2.1 amp charging for phones or tablets.

Can the 100-channel FM transmitter send audio to the car's original radio without extra wiring?

Yes, the transmitter broadcasts on any of 100 FM frequencies so the factory stereo picks up sound wirelessly; a hidden FM output is also available for an optional relay box.
