The aFe Power 2-in-1 Pen Multimeter combines non-contact voltage detection with a 4000-count TRMS multimeter in a single 185 mm by 26 mm by 29 mm body weighing 81 grams. It is intended for electricians and DIY users who need to identify live conductors, measure AC or DC voltage, resistance, continuity and diode function without carrying separate instruments. A supplied test lead and velvet bag complete the kit for field or home use.

Battery-Powered Operation with Auto Ranging

Two 1.5 V AAA cells are included and power the unit, which automatically identifies the measurement target — AC voltage, DC voltage, resistance or continuity — so no manual range selection is required. In multimeter mode the test lead connects to the probe tip for standard measurements, while in voltage-pen mode the tip alone detects AC voltage through insulation and distinguishes live from neutral wires by different audible and visual alerts. Auto shutdown after 15 minutes of inactivity preserves battery life.

Sustained Use in Dark or Confined Spaces

A built-in flashlight illuminates dim panels and junction boxes during extended troubleshooting sessions. The high-resolution LCD shows a low-battery indicator when supply voltage drops, preventing unexpected loss of function mid-task. Continuous operation is limited only by battery capacity; the auto-ranging logic and NCV detection remain responsive throughout long diagnostic routines without manual intervention.
