Electric pencil sharpener with auto stop

The AFMAT PS93 is a mains-powered electric pencil sharpener that sharpens a new pencil in about five seconds and a used pencil in roughly three seconds. It accepts pencils from 6 mm to 12 mm in diameter, covering standard No.2, coloured and hard charcoal pencils. A helical stainless-steel blade provides two selectable sharpness settings, blunt or sharp. The shavings box is large and the top lid opens for easy emptying.

Suited to classrooms, offices

Teachers and office workers who process many pencils daily will benefit from the fast cycle and auto-stop feature that prevents over-sharpening. Artists can select the sharp point for detailed work or the blunt setting for younger users. Buyers who require battery operation or a multi-hole sharpener for different diameters at once should look at other models.

Mains-powered operation with 120 V US plug

The unit runs from a standard 120 V US wall outlet and has no internal battery, so it must stay near a socket. This single power option determines whether the sharpener fits your workspace.

Questions about this item

Which sharpness setting should I choose for standard versus jumbo pencils?

The PS93 has two settings: blunt and sharp. Use the blunt setting for children or standard No.2 pencils; switch to sharp for artists who need a finer point on coloured or jumbo pencils up to 12 mm.

What does the 3-second sharpening claim mean for daily use?

A used pencil reaches a ready point in about 3 seconds; a new pencil takes roughly 5 seconds. The auto-stop feature then halts the motor, preventing over-sharpening and saving lead.

How does the 120 V plug-in power affect where I can use it?

The sharpener runs on a 120 V US plug, so it needs a mains outlet. It is not battery-operated, making it suited for fixed desk, classroom or studio locations rather than portable use.
