Classroom Automatic Sharpener

The AFMAT PSC7 is a fully automatic electric pencil sharpener designed for classroom, home and office use. It accepts standard and jumbo pencils from 6 mm to 12 mm in diameter, including round, oval and hexagonal shapes. The rechargeable cordless design allows flexible placement without a nearby outlet. Green ABS housing encloses a stainless steel blade for durable everyday sharpening.

Sustained Load Behaviour

The sharpener is rated for up to 10,000 sharpenings over its lifespan, indicating durability under repeated daily use in a busy classroom. A rechargeable battery powers the automatic feed and eject mechanism, delivering consistent sharpening cycles without the motor slowdown typical of disposable battery models. The 5 selectable sharpness modes let users match the tip to the task, reducing lead breakage during long sessions.

Practical Interface Limits

Pencils shorter than 79 mm cannot be sharpened because the auto feed mechanism cannot grip them securely. The single large sharpening hole accommodates diameters up to 12 mm but cannot accept thicker carpenter or oversized art pencils beyond that limit. Only one pencil can be processed at a time, so high volume sharpening requires sequential operation.

Questions about this item

How noisy is the PSC7 when it runs continuously in a classroom?

The sharpener uses a rechargeable motor that auto-feeds and ejects each pencil in about four to six seconds, keeping operation brief and intermittent rather than constant.

What must I already have to charge the PSC7 before first use?

The unit ships with a 120 V US plug charger; you only need a standard North-American wall outlet to recharge the built-in battery.

Will the PSC7 sharpen the 6.5 mm hexagonal pencils I already own alongside thicker 12 mm jumbo pencils?

Yes, the single large-diameter hole accepts round, oval and hexagonal pencils from 6.5 mm up to 12 mm, so both sizes work without an adapter.
