Classroom Electric Sharpener

The AFMAT PSD2BK is a cordless, rechargeable electric pencil sharpener built for classroom and studio use. It accepts graphite and coloured pencils from 6 mm to 11 mm in round, triangular or hexagonal shapes. A helical blade delivers an even, smooth point with automatic deburring on every cycle. The unit weighs 0.789 kilograms and measures 6.9 by 3.54 by 4.72 inches.

Suited for High-Volume Users

Teachers and artists who sharpen dozens of pencils daily will benefit from the 10,000-cycle blade rating and the ability to run more than 500 pencils consecutively without pause. Buyers who only sharpen occasionally or who need a fixed mains-powered unit should look at something else. The six-hole format also does not suit specialised leads outside the 6–11 mm range.

Simple Setup with One Caveat

Charge the internal battery, place the sharpener on a flat surface and insert a pencil; the auto-stop function halts the motor when the point is ready. The main issue users encounter is shavings tray overflow during heavy sessions, so empty it frequently. No tools or software are required for operation.

Questions about this item

What power source does the AFMAT PSD2BK need to operate?

The sharpener is cordless and rechargeable, so it runs on its built-in battery without a wall outlet.

Will the six holes accept the thicker coloured pencils I already use?

The holes handle pencils from 6 mm to 11 mm, covering standard No. 2, large and coloured pencils such as Prismacolor and Derwent.

How can I confirm the auto-stop feature is working after I start sharpening?

The motor stops automatically when the pencil reaches a sharp, even point with a smooth, deburred finish.
