Ready-to-Use Colored Pencils for Children

Crayola Twistables colored pencils arrive as a 6-pack of 12-count sets. Each pencil uses a twist-up barrel that removes the need for sharpening. The nontoxic formula makes them safe for young artists at home or in the classroom.

Best for Everyday Creativity and Travel

The twist mechanism suits children who want uninterrupted coloring without sharpeners or broken tips. Buyers who need professional-grade lightfast pigments or blendable soft cores for advanced illustration should look at something else.

Twist-Up Barrel Eliminates Sharpening

The defining specification is the twist-up plastic barrel that advances the color tip mechanically. This design removes sharpening from the workflow and protects the core during transport and daily use.

Questions about this item

How do I maintain the twistable pencils since they don't need sharpening?

No sharpening is required; simply twist the barrel to advance the color tip when it wears down, and replace the pencil once the pigment core is fully used.

Which part runs out first during long coloring sessions?

The pigment core inside each pencil depletes with use; when a color no longer advances after twisting, that pencil is finished.

Do the plastic barrels get warm or uncomfortable after hours of use?

The barrels are made of durable plastic and stay at room temperature during normal coloring; they do not generate heat.
