Gift set for modellers

The Airfix NASA Discovery Space Shuttle Gift Set is a Level 3 plastic model kit designed for adult hobbyists and collectors. It arrives in vintage-style packaging as an officially licensed product. The box contains 99 parts moulded in light grey, 10 acrylic paints, two brushes and two poly cement tubes. Everything required to start building is included.

Build requirements and display

Assembly requires plastic cement and paint application, both supplied in the box. No extra tools or adhesives need to be purchased before starting. Once completed the model measures approximately 15.35 inches long by 6.49 inches wide at 1/144 scale. A display stand is included so the finished orbiter can be shown immediately without a separate base.

Handling and storage

The kit consists of lightweight plastic sprues, paint pots and liquid cement, so normal indoor conditions are sufficient. Parts should be kept in the sealed box until construction begins to avoid dust or loss. Cement fumes are low but ventilation is recommended during assembly. No power, batteries or special environmental controls are involved.
