Vehicle Connectivity Antenna

The Airgain MULTIMAX 2-in-1 antenna combines one cellular element and one GNSS element in a single IP65-rated housing. It is built for fleet and public safety vehicles that require reliable external connectivity. The thread mount secures the unit to the vehicle roof or trunk. A 15ft coaxial cable with SMA connectors links both elements to the router or modem.

Sustained Environmental Performance

The antenna operates across a temperature range of -55ºC to 85ºC and meets MIL-STD-810G Method 501.5 for thermal conformance. It also conforms to MIL-STD 810 for vibration resistance, ensuring stable RF performance during continuous vehicle operation. The cellular element covers 698-960 MHz at 3 dBi and 1710-2700 MHz at 6.5 dBi, while the GNSS element provides 30.50 dBi gain across 1550-1610 MHz.

Installation Practicalities

The thread mount requires a drilled hole and clearance for the 15ft cable run to the interior equipment. Installers must route the cable away from pinch points and moving parts to prevent damage over time. The low-profile black housing resists car washes, salt, ice and tree branch sweeps. SMA connectors on both pigtails must match the modem ports exactly; mismatched connectors will require adapters not included in the package.
