Dual 1x4 12G-SDI Distribution Amplifier

The AJA OG-12GDA-2x4 is an openGear compatible distribution amplifier built for professional broadcast and production environments. It provides two 12G-SDI BNC inputs and eight non-inverting 12G-SDI BNC outputs in a single card. The unit is designed for high-density 2RU frames such as the AJA OG-X-FR and includes a 10x BNC rear connector module. It suits engineers who need reliable signal distribution in limited rack space.

Sustained signal integrity across all outputs

Automatic input equalization and output reclocking maintain clean signal paths during continuous operation. The amplifier handles format-agnostic video rates from 270 Mbps through 1.5Gb, 3Gb, 6Gb and up to 12Gb without manual setup. Embedded audio, ancillary data, closed caption and time code pass through unchanged. Input Present and SMPTE Lock LEDs give immediate visual confirmation of valid signals on each channel.

Low thermal load in standard openGear frames

The card operates within the thermal and power envelope of certified openGear 2RU frames without requiring additional cooling considerations. Silent solid-state operation adds no acoustic noise to the rack environment. DashBoard software on Windows, macOS and Linux enables remote monitoring of card status and configuration over the network. The openGear standard ensures interoperability with other certified partner cards in the same frame.

Questions about this item

Does the 12G-SDA-2x4 run hot or draw much power when it stays in an openGear frame all day?

The card uses automatic input equalization and output reclocking without active cooling, so it adds minimal heat and power draw to a shared 2RU frame.

What must I already own for the OG-12GDA-2x4 to work?

You need an openGear 2RU frame such as the AJA OG-X-FR and a 10x BNC rear connector module, which is included with the card.

Will the dual 12G-SDI inputs pass embedded audio and time code from my older 3G-SDI cameras?

Yes — the amplifier is format agnostic from 270 Mbps to 12 Gbps and passes all ancillary data including closed caption and time code unchanged.
