AJA OG-FS-Mini 3G-SDI Frame Synchronizer
An openGear frame synchronizer that aligns untimed 3G-SDI, HD and SD signals to an external reference with 10-bit processing and simultaneous SDI and HDMI outputs
- Frame-syncs untimed video to house reference
- 10-bit processing keeps colour depth intact
- One-frame latency preserves live timing
- Simultaneous SDI and HDMI outputs
- openGear card fits high-density 2RU frames
OpenGear Frame Synchronizer
The AJA OG-FS-Mini is a 3G-SDI utility frame synchronizer built for openGear frames. It time-aligns untimed SDI signals to an external bi-level or tri-level reference with 10-bit processing and a nominal one-frame latency. Simultaneous SDI and HDMI outputs plus balanced analog audio on two 3-pin terminal blocks suit broadcast and live-event workflows.
Broadcast engineers and live-production teams
Facilities that need fiber I/O, higher bandwidth than 3G-SDI or embedded audio routing must evaluate larger frame synchronizers. Operations without an openGear frame or Dashboard control environment cannot use the card. Users requiring multi-channel processing or redundant power supplies should look at modular frame solutions.
3G-SDI and HDMI simultaneous output
A single 3G-SDI input feeds both an SDI output for production and an HDMI output for monitoring. The card handles 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 625i and 525i formats with up, down and cross-conversion. Freeze on signal loss defaults to black or last good frame. Remote configuration is managed through Dashboard software on Windows, macOS or Linux.

Questions about this item
How much video delay does the frame sync add in a live chain?
Nominal latency is one frame, so the signal arrives one frame later than the source.
What reference standards can the card lock to?
It accepts both bi-level and tri-level reference signals for house timing.
What rack hardware is required to mount the card?
An openGear 2RU frame such as the OG-X-FR provides the slot and power.
