Purpose-built lavalier for presenters and performers

The AKG LC617 MD is an omnidirectional clip-on microphone designed for educational and corporate speakers as well as actors and singers. Its uniform polar pattern reduces feedback while delivering consistent sound quality in demanding presentation environments. The microphone ships in black with a tie clip or beige with a cable clip for discrete mask mounting.

Simple clip-on setup with RF-hardened wiring

Installation is limited to attaching the tie clip or cable clip and connecting the supplied MDA1 MiniXLR adapter to a compatible wireless bodypack. The capsule’s moisture-resistant construction tolerates perspiration during extended use. The only common issue is ensuring the MiniXLR connector matches the specific wireless system in use.

Clear speech capture within typical speaking range

The omnidirectional element comfortably handles normal voice levels at conversational distance without distortion. Headroom diminishes when the capsule is placed extremely close to high-output sources such as shouted vocals or loud instruments. The design prioritises speech intelligibility over wide dynamic-range recording.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the LC617 MD is working correctly after clipping it on and connecting to my wireless transmitter?

Speak at normal presentation volume and check that the wireless receiver shows a clean signal with no RF hash; the omnidirectional capsule should pick up your voice evenly even if you turn your head slightly.

What accessories are included in the box and what must I supply separately?

The box contains the LC617 MD microphone, foam windscreen, zip bag, quick start guide, an MDA1 MiniXLR adapter and either a black tie clip or a beige cable clip depending on the colour chosen; you must provide a compatible wireless bodypack transmitter.

Should I choose the black or beige version of the LC617 MD for my use case?

Choose the black version with its tie clip for visible wear on a suit or tie during presentations; choose the beige version with its cable clip when the microphone needs to be hidden inside an actor's mask or costume.
