Product Identity

The Albion Inc. Yard Tool Floor Lock is a steel mounting plate designed to stabilise wheelbarrows and carts when stationary. It suits gardeners, landscapers and maintenance crews who need a positive lock on level surfaces.

Installation Notes

The plate bolts to the frame using a B pattern with 2-5/8 by 3-5/8 inch inside spacing and 3 by 3 inch outside spacing. Misalignment of these holes is the common cause of fitment problems during mounting.

Capacity and Limits

The lock engages at a caster mounting height of 6-1/2 inches, retracting to 5-1/2 inches and extending to 6-13/16 inches for a 5 inch wheel diameter. It will not secure loads on uneven ground or wheels outside the stated diameter range.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the floor lock is working as intended after mounting it?

Extend the lock and verify the caster wheel lifts clear of the floor; the extended height should reach 6 13/16 in and the retracted height should sit at 5 1/2 in.

What comes in the box and what must I buy separately?

The floor lock unit itself is supplied; mounting bolts and any shims required for the 4 x 4-1/2 in plate are not included.

Which version should I choose for my caster setup?

Select this model only if your casters have a 6 1/2 in mounting height, 5 in wheel diameter and a B bolt-hole pattern with 2-5/8 x 3-5/8 in inside and 3 x 3 in outside spacing.
