ZORO SELECT Plate Caster 450 lb

This ZORO SELECT plate caster carries a 450 lb load rating on a five-inch polyolefin wheel. The non-marking tread protects floors while the side brake locks the wheel when needed. NSF listing confirms suitability for food-service environments. The swivel top plate allows full directional changes under load.

Food-service carts and mobile workstations

Kitchens, laboratories and warehouses that need a single swivel caster with a brake will find this model appropriate. The polyolefin wheel resists water and many chemicals. Buyers who require a total-lock mechanism that also stops the swivel race should look at a different caster type.

Load rating 450 lb

The 450 lb capacity is the primary figure that determines whether this caster matches the equipment weight. Exceeding this rating risks premature wheel deformation or brake failure. Verify the combined load of the cart and its contents before specifying this part.

Questions about this item

What does the 450 lb load rating mean when the caster is installed on a cart?

Each caster supports up to 450 lb; total cart capacity depends on the number of casters used and load distribution across them.

How does the side brake engage and what does it actually lock?

The side brake presses against the wheel tread to prevent the wheel from rolling; it does not lock the swivel rotation.

What plate size and bolt pattern are needed to mount this caster?

The plate is Type A; mounting hole centres and overall plate dimensions follow the standard Type A pattern for 5 in casters.
