Alcotec ER4043 3/64 Aluminum MIG Wire

This 16 lb steel spool contains ER4043 alloy aluminium welding wire with a 0.047 in diameter. It is designed for MIG welding aluminium to aluminium in flat, horizontal, overhead and vertical-up positions using DCEP current with 100 percent argon shielding gas. The wire suits fabrication shops and maintenance teams working on 4043 grade aluminium structures.

Mechanical properties and process fit

As-welded tensile strength reaches 34 ksi while yield strength measures 28 ksi under 100 percent argon. The minimum required yield strength is 10 ksi. The alloy 4043 series provides good fluidity and crack resistance for general-purpose aluminium joining without the higher strength demands of 5xxx series filler metals.

Upgrade considerations

This spool replaces smaller 1 lb or 2 lb packs when production volume justifies the 16 lb capacity and reduces changeover frequency.
