Three-Drawer Steel Pedestal

The Alera ALEPBBBFLG is a vertical pedestal file built from steel with a light gray finish. It measures 27.75" high by 14.96" wide by 19.29" deep and sits on four casters, two of which lock for stability. A full-length recessed pull runs the height of the drawer fronts for easy opening. The unit meets or exceeds ANSI/BIFMA standards for office furniture.

Box Box File Capacity

Two 6" high box drawers hold supplies and personal items while a 12" high file drawer accommodates letter and legal folders side by side. A built-in counterweight prevents tipping when the file drawer is fully extended. The height without casters is 26.38", leaving the top surface available for a printer or additional storage. Legal-width files fit without adapters.

Stationary or Mobile Upgrade

The pedestal replaces a fixed two-drawer cabinet when mobility and extra drawer separation are needed. Swapping the included casters for the supplied glides converts it to a stationary unit for permanent placement. It is not suited for users who require fire-rated construction or a locking mechanism on every drawer. The box-box-file layout adds a dedicated supply tier that a standard two-drawer file lacks.

Questions about this item

Will the 27.75" high pedestal fit under my 29" high desk without removing the casters?

The unit stands 27.75" tall with casters installed and 26.38" without them, so it clears a 29" desk in either configuration.

How can I confirm the anti-tip counterweight is functioning after assembly?

Load the 12" file drawer fully, then open it while the two 6" box drawers stay closed; the cabinet should remain stable and not rock forward.

Does the box include both the four casters and the four glides, or must I buy one set separately?

The package ships with four casters — two of them locking — already included; glides are not supplied and would need to be purchased separately if you prefer stationary feet.
