Straight Front Desk Shell

The Alera Valencia series straight front desk shell provides a 65 by 29 1/2 inch work surface finished in medium cherry. It is designed for professionals and home office users who need a spacious, rectangular platform for monitors, documents and peripherals.

Replacing Cramped or Modular Surfaces

This shell replaces smaller desks, corner units or makeshift tables that limit lateral spread. The jump is worth it when daily tasks demand continuous width for dual monitors, paperwork and a keyboard without overhang or add-on bridges.

Freestanding Shell for Custom Builds

The desk shell fits into a build as a standalone top that accepts separate pedestals, filing cabinets or leg supports chosen by the buyer. It frees up the specification of storage height, drawer count and mobility, letting the surrounding components dictate the final ergonomics.

Questions about this item

How much floor space does the 65 x 29 Valencia desk shell require?

The straight-front shell measures 65 inches wide by 29 inches deep, so plan at least that footprint plus clearance for a chair and any return units.

What tools and steps are needed to assemble the ALEVA216630MC, and which step do people often miss?

Assembly uses the included cam locks and dowels; the step most often missed is pre-installing all cam posts in the side panels before joining the top, which prevents misalignment.

What parts of the Valencia desk might need replacement after several years of use?

The cam locks, dowels and leveling glides are the hardware items most likely to wear or loosen over time; the medium cherry laminate surface is resistant to daily scratches.
