Product fit and purpose

This Alera chair mat measures 46.00" by 60.00" and is built for low-pile carpets up to .50" thick. The clear vinyl surface protects flooring from caster wear, spills and heavy traffic in a home or office setting.

Carpet thickness limit

The studded backing grips carpet effectively only when the pile height stays at or below .50". Thicker carpet lets the mat shift, reduces caster roll and can cause the vinyl to buckle over time.

Installation notes

Unroll the mat and let it lie flat for several hours so the beveled edges settle flush with the carpet. If the material is cold it may hold a curl; warming the room first prevents the edges from lifting after placement.
