Compact mobile file storage

The Alera PA54-2820PY is a two-drawer mobile pedestal file designed for office environments that need secure, movable document storage. It suits administrators and professionals who want letter- and legal-size filing within arm's reach at a desk.

Filing capacity and access limits

Two 12-inch high file drawers provide full-length extension for complete access to folders. Box drawers would offer only three-quarter extension, but this unit uses file drawers exclusively. A counterweight prevents tipping when a loaded drawer is opened.

Steel construction and daily mobility

Steel ball-bearing slides ensure smooth drawer operation over repeated use. Four visible casters, two of which lock, allow the unit to be rolled into position and secured. Recessed pulls and a full-length pull design keep the front profile flush for tight spaces.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the file/file version or a box/file version for letter and legal folders?

The file/file configuration gives two 12-inch high file drawers that both accept letter and legal filing, so you gain full-depth filing in each drawer.

What does the 27 3/4-inch height mean once the unit sits on its casters?

At 27 3/4 inches tall on visible casters it aligns with standard desk height and the counterweight keeps it stable when both drawers are open.

How far do the steel ball-bearing slides extend on the file drawers?

The file drawers use full-length extension slides so the entire drawer contents pull clear of the cabinet for complete access.
