Mobile Pedestal File for Office Filing

The Alera PB54-2819PY is a two-drawer mobile pedestal file finished in Putty. It provides letter and legal filing capacity in a compact footprint measuring 14 7/8 inches wide by 19 1/8 inches deep by 27 3/4 inches high. Four casters, including two locking units, allow the unit to be moved and secured as needed.

Suited for Compact Workspaces Needing Secure Filing

This pedestal suits professionals who require lockable, high-sided file drawers for letter or legal documents within arm's reach of a desk. A built-in counterweight prevents tipping when a drawer is fully extended. Buyers needing lateral filing orientation or more than two drawers should consider a different cabinet style.

Stable Operation Under Full Drawer Load

The counterweight is designed to keep the pedestal stable when both 12-inch high drawers are fully loaded and opened simultaneously. Locking casters hold the unit in position during repeated access cycles. The full-length recessed pull allows consistent opening force without hardware protrusion.

Questions about this item

What desk clearance do I need for the 27 3/4" high pedestal to fit underneath?

Allow at least 27 3/4" of vertical clearance beneath the worksurface so the unit can roll in without hitting the apron or keyboard tray.

Will the 19 1/8" deep unit sit flush with my current desk depth?

The pedestal is 19 1/8" deep; measure your desk depth to confirm alignment or overhang before positioning it.

How do I verify the counterweight and locking casters are functioning after assembly?

Load the bottom drawer first, then push the unit — it should resist tipping; engage both locking casters and confirm the pedestal does not roll when nudged.
