Mobile pedestal for legal filing

The Alera Seville Series mobile pedestal provides three drawers in a box/box/file configuration designed for legal-size documents. Its mahogany finish suits traditional office settings. The unit sits on casters so it can be positioned beside a desk or moved to a collaborative area. It is built for professionals who need secure, mobile storage within arm's reach.

Capacity and headroom: legal drawers and top space

Two shallow box drawers hold pens, notepads and small accessories while the deep file drawer accommodates legal folders front-to-back. The 15 by 18 inch footprint keeps the pedestal compact enough for tight corners. The top surface adds a convenient landing zone for a printer or reference binders. Heavy legal loads in the bottom drawer may require the unit to be parked against a wall for stability.

Upgrade from stationary cabinets

This pedestal replaces fixed filing cabinets that cannot be relocated without emptying them. It also steps up from two-drawer mobile units that lack legal-depth filing. The jump is worth it when workflows demand both frequent repositioning and full legal-folder capacity. Offices that only store letter-size papers or rarely move furniture will not use the extra depth or mobility.

Questions about this item

Will the 15" wide pedestal fit under my existing 27" high desk?

The unit stands 27" tall, so it will only fit if your desk clearance is greater than 27". Measure the underside of your desk to confirm.

How can I confirm the drawers operate correctly after assembly?

Open each drawer fully; the two box drawers and the legal file drawer should glide smoothly on the ball-bearing slides and the lock should secure all three drawers when engaged.

Does the box include casters and a counterweight, or must I buy them separately?

The mobile pedestal ships with four casters — two locking — and an integrated counterweight for stability; no extra parts are required for mobility.
