Compact Two-Drawer Pedestal File

The Alera two-drawer metal pedestal file in Light Gray measures 14 7/8w x 19 1/8d x 21 3/4h and provides a box/file drawer configuration for letter or legal-size documents. A built-in counterweight prevents tipping while four casters, two of which lock, allow mobility or stationary placement with included glides. Steel ball bearing slides deliver smooth operation with full extension on the file drawer.

Organised Storage Accessories Included

The 6-inch box drawer comes supplied with one divider and a pencil tray to keep small items sorted. The 12-inch high-sided file drawer includes a legal conversion bar for flexible filing options. A core-changeable lock secures both drawers and full-length pulls allow easy opening from any angle. Drawers glide on 3/4 extension for the box and full-length extension for the file.

Suits Mobile Desk-Side Filing Needs

This unit fits users who need secure, mobile filing beside a desk with room for both letter and legal paperwork. Buyers who want more storage capacity or a taller stationary cabinet should look at larger alternatives. The 27-inch height without casters suits low-profile spaces but may not align with standard desk heights for all users.

Questions about this item

What maintenance does the steel ball bearing slide suspension need?

The slides are sealed and require no lubrication. If a drawer feels stiff, wipe the tracks with a dry cloth and check for debris caught in the rollers.

Which part reaches its limit first during all-day filing?

The 12-inch file drawer carries the heaviest load; its full-extension slides will show wear before the 6-inch box drawer’s 3/4-extension runners.

How much heat or noise does the unit add to a room when used continuously?

The cabinet itself produces no heat or noise; only the soft click of the core-changeable lock and the quiet glide of the ball-bearing slides are audible.
