Mahogany desk shell overview

The Alera VA21-6030MY is a rectangular desk shell with a mahogany woodgrain laminate worksurface. Its commercial-grade laminate resists water, scratches and stains. A charcoal accent line runs beneath the top and 3 mm edge banding protects against bumps. Two grommets route cables and a full-length modesty panel adds privacy.

Flexible workstation foundation

Suits professionals building a custom desk layout who will add separate pedestals for storage. It can be used alone or joined with a Return or Bridge Shell to form an L-shaped workstation. A Credenza Shell can be added to create a U-shaped configuration. Buyers needing integrated drawers or a complete assembled desk should consider other options.

One-inch thick laminate top

The worksurface is 1 inch thick and constructed from woodgrain laminate. This thickness provides a rigid writing surface that resists daily wear. The protective edge banding and durable finish help maintain appearance in high-traffic office environments.

Questions about this item

Which Alera pedestals fit the VA21-6030MY desk for storage?

Pedestals are sold separately and can be added beneath the worksurface; choose any Alera pedestal designed for 6030-series desks.

Will the two grommets on this 6030 desk align with the cable cut-outs on my older Alera return shell?

The grommets are positioned for standard cable routing; when combining with a Return/Bridge Shell they line up for continuous wire management.

How can I confirm the 3 mm edge banding on the VA21-6030MY is properly seated after assembly?

Run a finger along the perimeter — the banding should sit flush with the laminate surface with no visible gaps or lifted corners.
