Under-Worksurface Pedestal File

The Alera VA532822GY is a gray pedestal file cabinet measuring 15.63 x 20.5 x 28.5 inches. It attaches beneath a worksurface rather than standing freely. Two file drawers with full-extension ball bearing slides provide access to legal or letter documents. Drawers lock with two included fold-away safety keys.

Suits fixed desk installations only

This unit fits offices where a pedestal can be secured under a desk or worksurface. It suits users needing locked storage for hanging folders within arm’s reach. Buyers requiring a mobile cabinet on casters or a freestanding tower should look elsewhere. The fixed mounting design prevents relocation once installed.

Full-extension ball bearing slides

File drawers open completely on ball bearing slides so the rear of each folder is reachable. This slide type supports the weight of loaded legal-size files without binding. If your workflow demands only partial drawer access or lighter storage, a simpler slide mechanism may suffice.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 15.63 inch wide model or a narrower pedestal for my desk?

The 15.63 inch width fits standard under-desk clearances and matches the Valencia series footprint; choose it when your worksurface depth is at least 20.5 inches.

How much file storage does the 28.5 inch height actually give me?

At 28.5 inches tall the cabinet provides two full-extension drawers that accommodate both legal and letter hanging folders front to back.

Does the ball-bearing slide system require a specific mounting rail or bracket?

The drawers run on integrated full-extension ball bearing slides; the unit attaches directly beneath the worksurface with no separate rail kit needed.
