Valencia Series Pedestal

The Alera VA552222MY is a hanging box/file pedestal that mounts beneath a worksurface for desk-side filing. It suits office workers who need secure, close-at-hand document storage without a freestanding cabinet. The unit ships new in a mahogany woodgrain laminate finish. Two drawers provide box and file configurations for mixed media organisation.

Under-Worksure Mounting Constraint

This pedestal is not freestanding and must attach under a worksurface for stability. The anti-tip mechanism indicator is absent, so the host desk carries the full load. Installation depends on the host surface having compatible mounting points. Builders without a suitable worksurface cannot use this unit.

Two-Drawer Capacity Limits

The box/file drawer pair handles everyday paperwork and small office supplies comfortably. Full-extension ball-bearing slides give complete access to file-depth contents. Lockable drawers secure confidential material with two fold-away keys. Heavy archive volumes or oversized binders exceed the practical capacity of the shallow box drawer.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the box/file drawer combination or a different configuration?

The VA552222MY comes only in a box/file layout with two drawers; there is no alternative configuration offered for this model.

What does the 15 5/8 inch width mean once the pedestal is mounted under my desk?

At 15 5/8 inches wide the unit sits between standard desk supports and leaves ample knee clearance for a typical worksurface.

How does the hanging attachment method affect installation and load capacity?

The pedestal is not freestanding; it bolts to the underside of a worksurface using the supplied hardware, so the desk must carry its weight.
