Three-shelf bookcase for professional spaces

This Alera Valencia Series bookcase delivers a contemporary woodgrain laminate design in Mahogany for professional environments. Three shelves provide organised storage with two fixed positions and one adjustable middle shelf. The 39.38-inch overall height aligns with Valencia series modular desking worksurfaces and hutches for a cohesive office layout.

Suits offices needing matching storage.

The bookcase suits offices that want matching components within the Valencia Office Suites range and require adjustable shelf spacing for varied materials. Leveling glides compensate for uneven floors to maintain stability. Buyers needing shelf capacities above 150 lbs or deeper shelves than 11.75 inches should consider alternative storage solutions.

One-inch thick commercial-grade shelves resist

Each shelf is constructed from 1-inch thick commercial-grade particle board rated at 150 lbs capacity to resist bowing under typical office loads. The 3 mm protective PVC edge banding on side panels adds dent and scratch resistance. Dowel and cam-lock fasteners ensure a clean, stable assembly.

Questions about this item

How much floor width and depth does the 31.75-inch wide bookcase require?

The unit measures 31.75 inches wide and 14 inches deep overall, so allow at least that footprint plus a few inches for access.

Which fasteners are used for the dowel and cam-lock assembly, and what is the common alignment mistake?

Dowels locate the panels and cam locks draw them tight; the step often missed is fully seating every dowel before tightening the cams, otherwise shelves sit crooked.

When should the leveling glides be checked or adjusted after the bookcase is loaded?

Check the four glides once the shelves are filled — up to 150 lbs each — and re-level if the unit rocks or gaps appear against the floor.
