Compact 9-Pad Kit for Young Beginners

The Alesis EDK-01 is a roll-up electronic drum set designed for children aged three to twelve. It includes nine responsive silicone pads, two foot pedals, drumsticks and a built-in rechargeable battery so no extra purchases are required. The lightweight, foldable design makes it easy to store or take on trips.

3.5 mm Headphone Jack for Silent Practice

The single specification that decides suitability is the 3.5 mm headphone output, which lets a child practise quietly without disturbing others. Built-in stereo speakers are also provided for open-air play, but the headphone jack is the feature that enables late-night or shared-space sessions.

Low Power Draw with Up to Ten Hours Battery Life

A built-in rechargeable battery delivers up to 10 hours of continuous play on a single charge, so the kit runs without mains power during normal use. There are no fans or moving parts, meaning operation is completely silent aside from pad strikes and speaker output.

Questions about this item

How many demo songs and rhythm patterns does the kit include for a beginner to play along with?

The kit provides 10 demo songs and 10 rhythm patterns, giving a young player plenty of built-in material to practise timing and groove.

What does the 3.5 mm headphone jack allow in a home setting?

Plugging in headphones mutes the built-in speakers so the drummer can practise silently without disturbing family or neighbours.

How much flat surface area does the rolled-out silicone pad need?

When unrolled the pad measures 15.7 inches long by 10.2 inches wide, so a desk or table at least that size is required.
