Portable 7-Pad Drum Kit for Young Beginners

The Alesis EDP02 is a roll-up electronic drum set built for children aged three to eight who want a first instrument they can carry anywhere. It weighs 1.49 pounds and folds into a compact silicone surface measuring 6.9088 by 21.0058 by 41.5036 centimetres. The kit includes three toms, a snare, hi-hat, ride, crash and two pedals so a young player has a complete voice set from day one.

Battery Life and Sound Limits

A 1000mAh lithium-ion cell delivers up to 6 hours of play per charge, enough for several practice sessions or an outdoor afternoon. Dual built-in speakers provide stereo output with nine volume levels, while a headphone jack enables silent rehearsal. The silicone pads are waterproof and wipe clean, but the fixed seven-pad layout means advanced players will eventually need more zones, chokeable cymbals or a larger kick surface.

Build Integration and Connectivity

The kit ships with two foot pedals, two sticks, a power supply, charging cable, audio cable and manual so nothing extra is required to start. A standard MIDI out jack and USB MIDI port let the unit connect to a computer for recording, music production software or educational games. Because the pads and electronics are integrated into one flexible mat, there is no separate module to mount, no rack to assemble and no cable loom to route.

Questions about this item

Will the 1.49-pound silicone pad set sit stably on my existing drum rack without sliding?

The kit weighs 1.49 pounds and uses soft silicone pads that grip most flat surfaces; it is designed as a self-contained roll-up unit rather than a rack-mounted module.

How can I confirm the dual speakers and headphone jack are both functioning after I charge the 1000mAh battery?

Power on the unit, tap each of the seven pads — three toms, snare, hi-hat, ride and crash — and verify sound from the built-in speakers; then plug headphones into the jack and confirm audio switches to the headphones.

Which accessories are included in the box and what must I supply myself?

The box contains two foot pedals, two drum sticks, a power supply, a charging cable, an audio cable and the instruction manual; you only need to provide headphones if you want silent practice.
