Product purpose and fit

The ALFA APA-M04 is a 7 dBi directional panel antenna designed to focus Wi-Fi signal gain in one direction. It suits users who need to reach a distant access point or router from a fixed position. It is not for users who need wide coverage while moving around or who rely on omnidirectional reception.

Build, connector and daily use

The antenna has a black finish and an RP-SMA connector that screws onto compatible Alfa Network USB adapters or other brand devices with an RP-SMA port. It arrives in OEM bulk packaging without a retail box or printed instructions. Installation is a simple twist-on action with no additional hardware required.

Thermals, noise and power

As a passive antenna it draws no power, generates no heat and produces no noise during operation. Performance depends on aiming the panel toward the target signal source. There are no active components to manage or power budgets to consider.

Questions about this item

What does the 7 dBi gain of the APA-M04 mean for real-world signal range?

The 7 dBi gain concentrates signal in one direction, extending reach toward a distant access point while reducing coverage behind the antenna.

What mounting hardware or space does the panel antenna require?

The flat black panel has no integrated bracket; it simply screws onto an RP-SMA port, so you only need a clear line of sight and room for the antenna body.

How do I attach the antenna to my Alfa USB adapter, and what is the common mistake?

Screw the RP-SMA connector onto the adapter's port until snug — do not overtighten, as the brass threads can strip.
