Algo 8186 IP Horn Speaker

The Algo 8186 is an outdoor-rated IP horn speaker built for voice paging, emergency alerting and loud ringing over SIP. It connects through a single Ethernet cable using PoE (IEEE 802.3af) and operates as a fully compliant third-party SIP endpoint with most hosted or premise-based VoIP telephone systems. An integrated microphone adds talkback capability for two-way communication. The unit weighs 3.17 kilograms and carries a PX6 rating for outdoor durability.

Replaces analogue horns and PA amplifiers

This speaker removes the need for separate analogue horn speakers, dedicated paging amplifiers and their associated cabling. The jump is worth it when you want centralised SIP control, PoE-powered installation and dynamic volume control that automatically adjusts output to ambient noise levels. Wideband HD voice improves intelligibility for paging and emergency alerts across campus or industrial sites.

Check SIP compatibility and mounting

Verify that your VoIP platform supports standard third-party SIP endpoints before ordering. Ensure a PoE-capable switch or injector is available at the mounting location, as the speaker draws power from the network cable. Confirm the wall-mount bracket suits the intended surface and that the 9000 Hz frequency response matches the clarity requirements for your paging zones.

Questions about this item

What wall-mount hardware and clearance does the 3.17 kg Algo 8186 horn speaker need?

The speaker uses a wall-mount bracket; allow space for the 15.47 × 11.46 × 7.13 in enclosure and route a single Ethernet cable for PoE power.

Which PoE standard and SIP step must be completed before the 8186 registers?

Connect to an IEEE 802.3af PoE port, then enter the SIP server address and credentials in the web interface so the horn registers as a third-party endpoint.

Which outdoor-rated components of the 8186 should be inspected after severe weather?

Check the waterproof horn enclosure, integrated microphone grille, and Ethernet port seal for damage or debris; the dynamic driver has no user-serviceable parts.
