General-Purpose Sandpaper Sheets

This five-pack of aluminum-oxide sandpaper provides 9-inch by 11-inch sheets in a medium 100 grit. It suits DIYers and tradespeople preparing wood, metal or painted surfaces for finishing. The sheets are fresh stock, ready for hand sanding or use with a sanding block. Model 4441 carries the Gatorgrit label for general-purpose work.

Consistent Cut With Low Loading

The aluminum-oxide grain resists dulling during extended sanding sessions, keeping material removal steady without frequent sheet changes. Open-coat spacing reduces clogging on softwoods and painted surfaces so dust clears with a light tap. Normal hand pressure produces a uniform scratch pattern while generating minimal heat on the workpiece.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 9 x 11 inch aluminum oxide sheets, and what step do people often get wrong?

Cut or tear each sheet to fit your sanding block, then clamp it flat with the grit side out. The common mistake is skipping the clamp check, which lets the paper shift and gouge the workpiece.

When will the 100 grit sheets need replacement during a typical refinishing job?

Replace a sheet once the abrasive feels smooth or stops cutting cleanly; heavy stock removal on hardwood can wear one sheet in minutes, while light scuff-sanding may last through several panels.
