First-person tragicomic adventure inside

Backfirewall_ is a first-person tragicomic adventure set entirely inside a smartphone. You play as the update assistant deciding whether to counter the update and save the chatty operating system OS9 from deletion. The game releases on PC via a Steam code on 30 January 2023. Published by All In! Games Spolka Akcyjna and developed by Naraven Games, it requires a Steam account for activation.

Suits players who enjoy narrative puzzle

This downloadable title suits players who enjoy narrative-driven puzzle adventures with a humorous tone and distinctive setting. It appeals to those who want to explore a personified smartphone world, solve environmental puzzles using cheat-codes, and uncover side stories through collectible emails. Buyers who prefer physical media or games without third-party DRM should look elsewhere, as the product is a digital download tied to Steam.

Eight subtitle languages

The game includes spoken English audio and subtitle support for English, French, German, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese-Brazil, Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Spanish. Players navigate areas such as RAM, the Speakers nightclub, and Wi-Fi bureaucracy while hunting bugs, trimming binary trees, and mastering music-controlled platforms. Collectibles reveal a parallel story, but the experience ends once the main narrative and side content are completed.
