Dual SFP Gigabit Ethernet PCIe x1 adapter with Broadcom BCM5718 chipset and RoHS compliance
The Allied Telesis AT-2911SFP/2-901 is a PCI-Express x1 network card with two SFP slots for 1000Base-X fibre connections. It uses the Broadcom BCM5718 chipset and fits a single low-profile expansion slot. The card suits administrators adding redundant Gigabit links to rack-mount servers or workstations.
Moving from a single copper port to dual SFP ports adds link redundancy and lets you choose fibre type per run. The upgrade is worthwhile when you need failover between switches or must span distances beyond copper limits without adding a second card.
The x1 Gen 2 interface limits total bidirectional bandwidth to the lane rate, so simultaneous full-duplex traffic on both ports will contend for that ceiling. Each SFP port negotiates 1000 Mbps, but aggregate throughput cannot exceed the host slot capacity. RoHS compliant.

Yes, the card uses a PCI Express x1 version 2 host interface and occupies one full-height expansion slot in the chassis.
Insert each transceiver firmly until it clicks into the SFP cage, then connect the fiber cables; the common mistake is seating the module loosely so the link fails to come up.
Replace modules if link errors increase, optical power drops below the vendor threshold, or after a firmware update changes supported transceiver codes.
