16-Port Gigabit Desktop Switch

The Allied Telesis GS920 is a 16-port unmanaged switch built for desktop use. It connects up to 16 devices over copper cabling at 10/100/1000Base-T speeds. The internal power supply removes the need for an external adapter. This Layer 2 switch suits small offices or home networks needing simple wired expansion.

Auto-Negotiating 10/100/1000Base-T Ports

Every one of the 16 ports auto-negotiates 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps and supports full-duplex flow control. No configuration is required; the switch forwards frames immediately after devices are plugged in. This single specification determines whether the port density and speed match the network segment you are building.

Suits Plug-and-Play Wired Networks

This unit fits networks that need silent, fanless desktop switching without VLANs, QoS or remote management. It is not for installations that require a managed feature set, rackmount brackets, Power over Ethernet, fibre uplinks or port counts beyond 16.

Questions about this item

How many devices can I connect at once using the 16 Gigabit ports?

You can connect up to 16 wired devices simultaneously, each running at up to 1000 Mbps.

What speed will I actually get from the 10/100/1000Base-T ports?

Each port auto-negotiates to 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps depending on the connected device and cable quality.

Does the desktop format need any special mounting hardware?

No, it sits flat on a desk or shelf and the internal PSU means there is no external power brick to accommodate.
