Altronix Corporation ACM4CB power inverter

SKU CH-ZPN5-5ZBQE MPN ACM4CB

Converts one 12 to 24 volt input into four independently controlled PTC protected outputs for access control hardware

  • Converts 12-24V AC/DC to four PTC-protected Class 2 outputs
  • Each output independently triggered by access control dry-contact or open-collector signal
  • Supports both fail-safe and fail-secure lock modes per output
  • Fire-alarm disconnect selectable individually on all four outputs
  • Powered from one common source or two fully independent sources

Power conversion for access control

The Altronix ACM4CB accepts a single 12 to 24 volt AC or DC supply and distributes it to four independently controlled PTC protected outputs. Each output is rated Class 2 Power Limited and can be triggered by an open collector sink or normally open dry contact from readers, keypads, push buttons or PIR sensors. The board supports both fail-safe and fail-secure locking devices such as mag locks, electric strikes and magnetic door holders.

Sustained load behaviour

Each output is guarded by a resettable PTC device that limits current continuously without requiring fuse replacement. The four channels operate independently so a fault on one door does not interrupt power to the others. The unit can be powered from one common source for both board logic and lock power or from two completely separate sources, allowing the controller to stay alive even if the lock supply is disconnected.

Thermals noise and power draw

Solid state PTC protection generates no audible switching noise and adds no moving parts to the enclosure. Power consumption is limited to the connected access control hardware and the board's own logic circuitry. The fire alarm disconnect feature can be enabled per output to cut power instantly during an emergency egress event without thermal stress on the controller.

Questions about this item

How much heat or noise does the ACM4CB generate when running continuously?

The ACM4CB has no moving parts or fan; its PTC-protected outputs limit current without active cooling, so it runs silently and produces minimal heat under normal 12 to 24 volt operation.

What external power source must I already have to operate the ACM4CB?

You need one 12 to 24 volt AC or DC supply for board and lock power, or two independent supplies if you want separate board and accessory circuits.

Will the ACM4CB work with my existing mag locks and electric strikes?

Yes, the four Class 2 PTC outputs support both fail-safe and fail-secure modes, and the FACP interface allows fire-alarm-triggered egress for compatible access hardware.
